Clearwire Launches 50th Market

Clearwire Corporation is bringing the freedom of wireless broadband Internet service to the Rochester area with its official launch this week. Residents and businesses in the “Flower City” now have a fast, simple, portable, reliable and affordable alternative to traditional dial-up, cable and DSL. Rochester is Clearwire’s second market in New York State followed by Syracuse, and marks the company’s 50th market globally. Clearwire is currently deployed in 46 markets in the U.S. and in 4 markets in Europe.

“We’re very excited to enter the Rochester market with our fast Internet service that will provide area business and residents the freedom to travel wirelessly across the city,” said Lynette Sharp, regional vice president for Clearwire in Rochester. “In addition to delivering our fast, simple to use, portable and affordable wireless broadband service, Clearwire is committed to supporting the communities in which we do business. We’re honored to recognize the local teachers for their tireless efforts in making a difference in the classroom and the community.”
