Cox Business unveils Cox Business VoiceManager

Cox Business unveiled Cox Business VoiceManagerSM, a feature-rich telephony platform that integrates the desktop phone, PC and wireless devices to provide customers with enhanced communications control, flexibility and functionality that drive operational efficiency. Cox Business is the first cable provider in North America to deploy a fully-owned and managed IP telephony service that addresses the needs of the broad business market.

Cox Business VoiceManager’s feature-rich platform can scale to deliver productivity, mobility, business continuity and unified messaging solutions to small businesses and large enterprises. The new Cox Business VoiceManager converged functionality provides an unparalleled experience compared to traditional telecom solutions:

*Enhanced Productivity – Call control features such as Find Me/Follow Me, Auto Attendant and Personal Status Manager ensure that calls are promptly routed to the most convenient location and priority callers are given preferential treatment.

*Complete Mobility – Remote Office, Sequential Ring and Call Notification functions allow one number to be pointed to desk, home and mobile phones, and simultaneous ring and voicemail alerts ensure that calls and messages don’t go unanswered.

*Business Continuity – Streamlined administration allows every employee to adjust communications preferences from a Web portal, ensuring that business continues from home, on the road or an alternative work site when the office is moving, closed or during an unforeseen disaster.

*Modern Messaging - Unified Messaging places voicemail and e-mails in one window for easy management, and Personal Call Manager logs call history on the desktop.

“Cox Business VoiceManager sets the next generation communications standard for businesses, offering benefits to customers of all sizes that cannot be realized with traditional voice systems,” said Kristine Faulkner, vice president of product development and management, Cox Business. “This unprecedented service injects communications flexibility into businesses and allows them to deliver a unique experience to their employees and customers, making traditional telephone service a thing of the past.”

Cox Business maintains and manages the service over its fully-redundant and secure hosted network, affording businesses the time and resources to enhance their productivity while protecting vital communications. Because Cox Business VoiceManager is compatible with most existing phone systems, businesses also save the capital and operating expense of purchasing and maintaining new equipment.

The service launched this month in Cox’s New England system, which serves customers in Connecticut and Rhode Island. The service is scheduled to launch in two more Cox markets before the end of the year and will aggressively expand to additional markets in 2008.

Entiera, one of the first customers to implement Cox Business VoiceManager, is the world’s leading marketing automation solution providing campaign management capabilities, customer analytics, data integration, and online data portals for the mid-sized business.

“Through an intuitive online interface, every aspect of voice communication can be managed in one place, with all the features you’d expect from a much more expensive system,” said Jeff Wilhelm, a Business Technology Consultant for Entiera. “The system makes it possible for a small company without a dedicated IT staff to focus on growing the business, and not on managing a phone system.”
