ECI Announces GPON Win
ECI Telecom announced today that it has
been chosen by Tutor, a carrier of carriers in France, to deploy an end-to-end
next-generation solution to support the city of Nancy (CUGN – “Communauté
Urbaine du Grand Nancy”) in the roll-out of an advanced fiber to the building (FTTB)
network, one of the first in the country.
ECI's solutions will provide enterprises located in Nancy and nearby with
advanced broadband and telecommunications services. ECI will deploy the
XDM®-1000 and 2000 WDM solution, the ST®-50 for broadband aggregation, and the
Hi-FOCuS™ Multiservice Access Node (MSAN) for Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON).
“ECI was the obvious choice for this project based on its comprehensive,
end-to-end solutions,” said Joel Peron, Président Directeur Général (CEO) of
Tutor. “ECI’s carrier-class capabilities offer us efficient high-bandwidth
services from the core to the access of the network. Choosing one vendor for an
end-to-end deployment provides us with the necessary simplicity and reliability
now and for the long-term growth we expect.”
“ECI has been at the forefront of fiber deployment in Europe, and we are proud
to have been selected by Tutor to expand their network in Nancy (CUGN). Our
end-to-end solutions and our expertise with carriers of carriers well position
us to offer the most innovative and efficient, yet cost-effective, solutions to
a carrier such as Tutor," said Thierry Berton, General Manager, South Europe.
"We expect to continue to partner with Tutor as they expand their network over
additional cities in France, such as Bourges or Amiens."
