Viaccess acquires ORCA for $21M
Orca Interactive announced that it has
signed an agreement with Viaccess, a France Telecom subsidiary. Under the
agreement, Viaccess will acquire a 100-percent stake in Orca for an estimated
price of 21.4 million US dollars.
The completion of the transaction is subject to conditions precedent and notably
to the approval of the transaction by the extraordinary general meeting of Orca
Interactive.
Viaccess is a leader in the field of content protection, with conditional access
and DRM solutions delivered in over 30 countries. Viaccess is a European leader
in IPTV with over 1.2 million active subscribers worldwide.
Through this acquisition, Orca and Viaccess will improve their respective market
positions, and enhance their ability to smoothly deliver innovative solutions
with a powerful integrated IPTV platform.
